Specialty Schools and Programs

Mark your calendars! School applications to selective admission schools and open enrollment for the 2025-26 school year will open on Monday, October 14!
The Selective Admission Schools process allows any Richmond City resident, including non-RPS students, to apply to the following selective schools and programs:
 Franklin Military Academy (grades 6 and 9 only)
 Open High School (grades 9-10)
 Richmond Community High School (grades 9-10)
 IB Diploma Programme at Thomas Jefferson High School (grade 11)
 Appomattox Regional Governor’s School (grade 9)
 Maggie L. Walker Governor’s School (grade 9)
