Students should continually check the Counselor Corner, the OHS Future Center, and the Open High School Google Classrooms for scholarship information. Micah and Brandy are here to help you plan, so please reach out to them!

Brandy Paige is our RVA Future Center Navigator, here to help students--especially seniors--navigate their future with information, opportunities, and resources. She will be available in the Writing Lab on Thursdays and in the OHS Future Center Classroom you may also contact her via email at bpaige@rvaschools.net

Here are a few reminders...

  • Post your acceptance letters on the senior board across from the main office.
  • Make an appointment with our GRASP Advisor, Ms. Amy (open@grasp4va.org) and our Future Center Navigator, Ms. Brandy (bpaige@rvaschools.net).
  • Inform Micah of any scholarships you receive from colleges or community organizations.  
  • Use Schoolinks to help with your scholarship search.  The link to the Schoolinks Help Center will provide assistance on how to search and apply for scholarships.

Wassmer Foundation Scholarship - DEADLINE MARCH 15th
The Wassmer Foundation will provide scholarships to exceptional high school seniors in the City of Richmond and the counties of Henrico, Chesterfield and Hanover.  Up to five $30,000 scholarships will be awarded annually, beginning this spring.  The $30,000 will be distributed evenly over the recipient's 4 years ($7,500/year), assuming the students meet the foundation's basic requirements while in college.  Beyond the residence requirements, eligible students must: demonstrate financial need by completing the FAFSA, have a minimum 3.5 unweighted GPA, intend to enroll in a four-year college in the fall of 2023.  More details about the scholarship can be found at www.wassmerfoundation.org.  The application deadline is March 15th.

The Rho Eta Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated ® is Soaring to Greater Heights through Academic Achievement and excited to offer 3 scholarship opportunities to your seniors. _ DEADLINE MARCH 31st

We are now accepting applications for the Annie Henderson Wood Memorial Scholarship.  

·          Four (4) $500 Scholarships for students with a 2.5 to 2.99 GPA

·          Thirteen (13) $1000 Scholarships for students with a 3.0 or higher GPA


We are now accepting applications for the Margie Chrichlow Smith Scholarship.

One scholarship will be awarded to a student who plans to attend a vocational or technical program. 

·          One (1) $500 Scholarship for students with a 2.5 to 2.99 GPA

Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. Scholarship - DEADLINE APRIL 15th

Each year the Richmond Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. awards scholarships to deserving young men in the Richmond Metropolitan area. All applicants must demonstrate financial need and have a grade point average of 2.5 or better.  Scholarships will be awarded in the amount of $2,000.  Complete the attached application by April 15th, 2023.  All applications must be emailed to racscholarshipcommittee@gmail.com or mailed to:
