This Week at Open

We have a festive week ahead!

Congratulations to our hardworking students and faculty! While we may have some issues with the new state accountability system, we are happy to be identified as DISTINGUISHED by the VDOE. You can read more the new rankings HERE.

Interims were distributed last Thursday. Make sure you check in with your people about how best to address issues and celebrate growth.

Don't forget to apply for a Student Travel Scholarship to Spain! Due January 5.

Civic engagement is critical if we're going to evolve as a society. At Open, community service is also an expectation, with 120 documented volunteer hours needed prior to graduation. Winter Break is a great time to engage or plan your gift of giving back. Students can visit The Community Foundation, and explore local volunteer activities. Grab some volunteer forms outside Room 107 prior to the break!

Senior Project Progress Meetings
These meetings with Brigette or Saskia are not optional. Sign Up slots are available all this week HERE:

Amy with GRASP will be here on Monday to help seniors with FAFSA and scholarships. Please visit her during a free period or lunch. This is a service that more seniors need to take advantage of.
