A dedicated and visionary educator, Candace brings more than two decades of strategic, equity-focused leadership to Open High School as Interim Principal, while simultaneously continuing to serve as the district’s Manager of College and Career Pathways. 

Her deep roots in the Open High community began in 2000, serving first as a history teacher before stepping into the role of Principal in 2008. After a brief tenure leading Thomas Jefferson High School, she returned to guide Open High School through 2019, cementing a legacy of academic excellence, student empowerment, and inclusive culture.

In her district leadership role as Manager of College and Career Pathways, Candace designs and implements division-wide initiatives that expand access to postsecondary opportunities. Skilled in program design, cross-sector partnerships, and systemic equity, she builds robust systems that support the measurable improvement of graduation rates and the focus of ensuring that  all students have clear, actionable routes to college and career success.

A proven leader skilled in team development, strategic planning, and school administration, Candace leverages this dual perspective to advance student achievement, strengthen postsecondary readiness, and foster an environment where every Open High student can thrive.
